Introduction

Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University, bears the mission of training the professionals in clinical medicine with its relevant majors, forensic medicine and biomedical engineering of Sun Yat-sen University, and it is also a major base in the university of the academic research and team construction for the preclinical medicine.

Sun Yat-sen University MBBS program aims to educate students to study basic theory and elementary knowledge in medicine, gain basic clinical skills of some common diseases diagnosis processing, have the primary treatment ability to urgent, difficult and severe symptoms, and be qualified for careers in hospitals, the medical and health units, medical science research departments as well as other organizations related medicine.

Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University had first-grade professors such as Liang Boqiang, Chen Xintao, Qin Guangyu, Lin Shumo, and the world-renowned medical scientists and educators such as Tang Zeguang, Ye Luming, Xu Tianlu, Luo Qian, Bai Shien etc. There are now 188 full-time teachers, who are engaged in the education and research for the preclinical medicine, among which 43 are professors including more than 20 people who are national and provincial level talents. These high-level talents are the overseas personnel in the national “A Thousand Talents Program”, and the national well-reputed educators.

The School covers an area of more than 40,000 square meters, and holds the high-tech equipments which worth over one billion yuan. And they all serve for the scientific research and personnel training of the college.

Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University has 9 full-time undergraduate courses (5-year clinical medicine, 8-year clinical medicine, optometry, anesthesiology, medical imagelogy, medical laboratory science, cure treatment, forensic medicine, biomedical engineering), in which clinical medicine is the construction spot of national-level featured major.

At present, the college has 2 national-level demonstration centers for experimental teaching (preclinical medicine, clinical skills); 7 national excellent courses (physiology, human parasitology, human anatomy, pharmacology, forensic pathology, radio-diagnostics, physiology experiments); 1 national bilingual education demo course (pathogenic organisms); and 2 state-level teaching team (teaching team of preclinical medical, and teaching team of physiology experiments ). In recent years, the pass rate of the candidates from Zhongshan School of Medicine who take part in the National Aptitude for Practicing Physician has been continually in the forefront of all the medical colleges in China.

During the recent three years, Zhongshan School of Medicine have presided over 8 subjects in the National 863 Plan, 1 subject in the National 973 Programs (chief), 5 subjects in the 973 Subjects, 6 subjects in the National-Funding Key Projects, 7 subjects in the National Major Projects for Original New Drug, and 1 subject in the National Major Projects of Infectious Diseases. The research fund which the college has won is up to 100 million yuan, moreover, it has already got more than 20 monographs & 1,000 papers published, and have also received more than 10 awards which are above the provincial level.

Admission Requirements

Finished high school studies, aged under 30 and healthy.
Authorized copy of IELTS score 6.0 or above or TOEFL score 530 or above.
