Introduction

Weifang Medical University (WFMU), an university with a hundred years of history, is a state-owned medical university. It is located in Weifang, the international Kite Capital at the center of Shandong Peninsula. WFMU covers an area of more than 1.2 million square meters, with 570, 000 square meters construction area. Over the past decades, a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary pattern has been formed at WFMU, which has offered a number of disciplines, including medical sciences, health management, general sciences, law and literature, with the medical sciences as the leading discipline. WFMU is authorized to grant bachelor and master degrees and recruit overseas students. WFMU is also authorized to recruit PhD candidates in collaboration with Shandong University, Southern Medical University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and also Shandong Medical Technology Educational Centre and the Basic-level Health Management Cadres Training Centre.


Weifang Medical University MBBS program is conducted professionally in English so as to create a favorable learning atmosphere for foreign students with the course duration of 5 to 5.5 years including 1 to 1.5 years compulsory internship. The internship can be finished in Chinese hospitals or in hospitals of your own country. The program will be conducted on six months semester basis. Therefore the total academic semesters will be 10 to 11 including internship. The program will not only benefit the development of the higher medical education, but also improve the cultural exchange and co-operation among the medical universities around the globe. WFMU provides South Asian teachers especially from Pakistan, India and Nepal with MBBS and BDS program so as to provide high quality education, advanced teaching equipments, co-operative administration and innovative teaching methodology.

Weifang Medical University is recognized by WHO, UNESCO, CSC, CMC, and teaches the whole course with USMLE/PLAB based exam and preparation. The university will provide provisional certificate after the completion of 4 and 1 / 2 years course for students who want to do their internship in third country.
