Introduction

Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the former Shandong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, founded in 1958, moved from old campus in Lixia district, jinan, to the University Scientific and Technological Area, Changqing district, Jinan, is a famous university of traditional Chinese medicine in China. It is the only medical university on its' own setup in Shandong Province and became one of the key universities of Shandong Province in 1981. It changed its' name from Shandong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine to Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1996. It has been evaluated to be an excellent university in undergraduate-level education by Educational Ministry.

The new campus of the university, with complete functions, digitization, forestation, modernization and unique features, has superior conditions. It has the total area of 1892 Chinese Mu, the building area of 504 thousand square meters, a great deal of apparatus which is valued totally 141110 thousand Renminbi, a large number of books in the library including 102 thousand paper books and 470 thousand electric books, and a fully equipped computer net and modern educational technological facilities. The university has 13 colleges, two directly-led affiliated hospitals and 8 indirectly-led affiliated hospitals, 23 teaching hospitals and 50 clinical teaching bases.


Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has all kinds of classes and courses of different educational levels. Set up are 21 undergraduate specialties involving medicine, science, literature, industry, management and so on. There are three doctor-degree-authorized and first-grade specialties of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Traditional Chinese Matera medic and combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western Medicine, under which there are 15 doctor-degree centers set up in different subjects. There are five master-degree-authorized and first-grade specialties covering all the second-grade specialties of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Traditional Chinese Matera Medic and combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western Medicine, and starting to infiltrate into periphery subjects, under which there are 26 master-degree centers set up in different subjects. In addition, the university has the granting doctor-degree and master-degree rights in clinical medicine. At present, the university has 16300 full time students including 13588 undergraduates and 2527 postgraduates. The university attaches great importance to international academic exchange and cooperation. The university has established and keep the friendly cooperative relationships with more than 60 universities, medical units and medical academic organizations in Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin America, Australia, and Hang Kang , Macao and Taiwan, cooperating with them in education, treatment and scientific research of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Every year, the university enrolls oversea students. Now there are more than 240 of them in the campus.

Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has a big teaching team of great ability. In the university now, there are totally 3325 staff members of medical education and treatment and 1006 of them in the main campus, of which, 78 doctorate tutors, 311 master tutors. There is a person who has won, first and last, the honorable titles of "the great master of national medicine" and "the model of national medicine". There is a person who is chief scientist of 973 National Scientific Research Program. There is a person who is national outstanding professional technician. There are 8 national excellent teachers. There are 10 young and middle-age experts of provincial or ministerial level, who has made great contributions to the country. There are 6 Shandong Provincial "Taishan Academician" specially-engaged professors. There are 41 persons who enjoy special subsidy from state council. There are 5 famous aged Shandong provincial experts of Traditional Chinese Medicine, who has made great contributions. There is one team which has been selected as one of Ten Shandong provincial excellent innovation teams.

Admission Requirements

1. Teaching Language: Chinese
2. Fluent in Chinese Language; HSK test certificate.
3. Senior High School Graduates, Those with Equivalent Degree or Above
4. Applicant must take the written examination and interview. Those who has passed HSK-6 can directly take the interview.
