The college of Chemical Engineering has 32 faculty members, 608 students and 6 staff. The college’s laboratories have 6 millions equipments. The students receive state-of the art chemical engineering training from distinguished experts in the field of chemical engineering combined with practical, hands-on experience.

Our college is divided into 4 sub-disciplines or programs of concentration: chemical engineering, environmental engineering, fined chemistry, storage and transport of oil and gas. Undergraduate students are required to take courses in each area in order to earn the right to become a chemical engineer. They also have the opportunity to specialize in any program by taking senior elective courses in program area of interest. The specific focus areas of excellence in our college are in the areas of solid waste treatment and macromolecule materials, with a current effort in force to also emphasize Biological Engineering.

For the last 23 years, the college has made a great progress in education, scientific research and serving to the society with the efforts of its faculty. School of Civil Engineering

The School of Civil Engineering is one of the oldest, strongest departments in Ningbo University of Technology. At present the School of Civil Engineering has two undergraduate specialties (Civil Engineering, Building Environment and Facilities Engineering) and four academic specialties (Architectural Engineering Technology, Road and Bridge Building Technology, Building Facilities Engineering Technology, Building Decoration Engineering Technology). The number of students accepting education at the School sums up to around 1000. At present there are 46 teaching and administrative staff (3 professors and 18 associate professors) in the School.

After 20 years’ development, Building Construction Engineering Specialty has been listed the demonstrating construction specialty of the nation by the Ministry of Education. Material Subject has been listed the key construction subject in Zhejiang Province, Highway and City-Road Specialty is listed the key construction specialty in Ningbo. The program for specialty in Civil Engineering is designed to prepare a comprehensive and balanced technician with a sound knowledge of civil engineering, with basic engineer training and with perceptual ideas of innovation. Students may develop a career in design, construction and management of civil engineering or planning and scientific research as well.

The School has attached importance to the scientific research work, in recent years, it attained one international science and technology cooperation project, attained one project assisted by Provincial Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang, attained one project funded by Ministry of Communications. There are Research Institute of Concrete Durability, Center of Building Test, Engineering Center of Building Facilities, Education Base of Construction Decoration, CAD Laboratory etc., it covers building area of 3600 square meters. The cost of the facilities is nearly 8 million Yuan. All lay the strong foundation for the subject construction of the School.

School of Economics and Management

The School of Economics and Management was established in 1983 and developed on the basis of Economics and Management Department. Now the school focuses on the subjects, including Accounting, International Economics and Commerce, Logistics Management, and Marketing, etc. it also sets up four professional teaching and research offices for the aforementioned subjects. Besides, there are some other institutions, like software service center, laboratory, databank, and working offices.

At present, the school has 43 staff, among them are 39 full-time teachers, 7 professors, 8 associate professors, and 15 lecturers. 3 of them got Doctor's Degree, 10 got Master's Degree. They become a potential group with reasonable structure.The quality of research programmes and academic papers continue to be high. There are nearly 30 research programmes and RMB 2,000,000 research fees, as well as around 200 academic papers, 20 publications and teaching materials written by us.For the moment, there are 95 full-time undergraduate students, 1339 academic students. The area of special laboratories is 300 square meters, and the value of instruments for lab is about RMB 1,100,000. The school has more than 60,000 books in library and 30 kinds of academic magazines.

The School of Economics and Management has been the education and training base for National Accountant, National Assistant Accountant, National Logistician, National Assistant Logistician, National Computer Level Examination, and Ningbo Accounting Computerization. Till now, more than 50 classes have been trained with 6000 trainees, including training of Accountants, Logisticians, Financial Analysis of Corporation, and Accounting System of Enterprise and so on. Especially, training for Accountants is quite famous in Ningbo, which forms an effect in the community, say, ‘Both Accounting teachers and Accounting students can be found in Ningbo University of Technology’. What’s more, training for Logisticians also enjoys a high reputation in Ningbo. Many teachers participate in community practice during off hours after teaching and research. Someone do part-time CFO, management consultant, counselor-at-law, corporation scheme consultant, CPA, economics master and so on. In the meantime, teachers pay much attention on the social science research project, cooperating with Municipal Planning Commission, Municipal Bureau of Statistics, and Ningbo large-scale enterprises and so forth.
