Test takers have excellent listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, as well as professional translation skills. Be able to have formal, fluent and decent social interactions on various social topics in different scenes.
Be able to handle conversation such as academic research, policy and regulation, trade, international affairs, etc. Be able to debate and negotiate with business partners in formal settings and be able to understand files related to policy, regulations and research reports. Be able to make decent comments on the topic.

1. Listening
Test takers can understand the required topics and tasks from band 9 (about 800 characters). The materials are spoken in a neutral tone without an obvious accent. The speaking speed is normal or fast. Be able to analyze and conclude needed information to properly comprehend involved social-cultural implications.
2. Speaking
Test takers can handle all required syllables, vocabulary and grammar for advanced level and pronounce these syllables accurately with a neutral tone. Be able to flexibly use complex sentences to express personal views, have a discussion or debate. The content of the speaker should be fluent in words and sentences with logical thoughts and abundant details. Be able to use rhetoric to strengthen the emotion of the speaking and also embodies the ability of cross-cultural intercommunication.

3. Reading
Test takers can read the required syllables, characters and vocabulary for advanced level. Reading speed should be no less than 240 characters per minute. Test takers are supposed to be proficient with Chinese expressions and thoughts to have a comprehensive understanding of the construction and content of the articles. Be able to use various reading skills to comprehend the content and involved cultural implications precisely.
4. Writing
Test takers can handwrite all the Chinese characters from the required handwriting list. Be able to write academic papers and different forms of literature with clear perspective and logic using correct formats and appropriate expressions. Be able to apply various compound sentences and different kinds of rhetoric in writings.
5. Translation
Test takers have elementary professional translation skills. Be able to translate topics and tasks from band 9 with completed content. Be able to handle simultaneous interpretation of professional content on formal occasions. Be able to translate articles and different forms of literature accurately and follow the original version’s rhetoric and style.
Test Content
HSK (Levels 7-9) are advanced proficiency levels intended for learners of Chinese as a second language. This includes international students pursuing master's and doctoral degrees in China, students majoring in Chinese in different countries, as well as professionals involved in academic research, economic, cultural, and technological exchanges conducted in Chinese.
HSK (Levels 7-9) has a total of 98 questions, divided into listening, reading, writing, translation, and speaking sections. The entire exam takes about 210 minutes. HSK (Levels 7-9) provides five scores, including listening, reading, writing, translation, and speaking, and provides level evaluation results.

The HSK (Level 7-9) report provides six scores, including listening, reading, writing, translation and speaking, and provides the rating results. Level Setting: According to the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education, the test takers are classified into four levels: Below HSK (Level 7), HSK (Level 7), HSK (Level 8) and HSK (Level 9), based on the ability values measured by the Item Response Theory (IRT), as well as the content & difficulty of the test items.
